Thank you for using Jaxis ("we", "us", "our"). This Privacy Policy explains what personal data our mobile app collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. Please read it carefully.
1. Data We Collect
Our app collects the following categories of personal information when you grant permission:
- Audio recordings — short or continuous audio captured by the device microphone when you start a recording or when the app is actively using the microphone.
- GPS location — precise device location (latitude/longitude) while the app is running or when you allow background location access.
- Call log metadata — information about phone calls such as call timestamps, call direction (incoming/outgoing/missed) and call duration. We do not collect the audio contents of phone calls unless you explicitly start a separate recording and consent to that recording.
- Device & usage data — device model, OS version, app version, crash logs, and analytics events used to improve the app.
2. Why We Collect This Data & Legal Basis
- To provide the app features you expect: audio recordings and location data enable core functionality (for example: voice notes tagged with location, location-based reminders, or activity histories).
- To improve and secure the app: diagnostics, crash reports, and analytics help us fix bugs and make the app more reliable.
- With your consent: we ask for permission before accessing your microphone, location, or call log. You may withdraw consent at any time (see "Your choices" below).
3. How We Use & Process Your Data
We use collected data for purposes including:
- Storing audio files you create and letting you play, organize, or export them.
- Tagging recordings with the time and place they were made (location).
- Displaying a call-related timeline when you opt into call-log features.
- Improving app performance and preventing abuse.
4. Sharing & Third Parties
We do not sell your personal data. We may share data in the following limited situations:
- Service providers: trusted vendors that host encrypted backups, analytics, or crash reporting. Those providers may only process data as instructed by us.
- Legal requests: when required by law or to respond to valid legal process.
- Business transfers: if our app is merged with or sold to another company, your data may be transferred as part of that transaction; we will notify you if this happens.
5. Data Retention
We keep your data only as long as necessary to provide services and for legitimate business purposes. Typical retention examples (customize for your app):
- Audio recordings you create: retained until you delete them (or longer if you allow automatic backup).
- Location logs: retained for up to 90 days by default unless you opt into longer history.
- Call log metadata: retained for up to 180 days unless you delete the data earlier.
(These retention windows are examples — update them to match your actual practices.)
6. Security
We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect data, including encrypted storage on-device and encrypted transmission (HTTPS/TLS) to our servers. However, no system is 100% secure. If a breach affecting your data occurs, we will follow applicable law and notify affected users as required.
7. Your Choices & Rights
- Permissions: you can revoke microphone, location, or call-log permissions at any time in your device settings. Revoking permissions may degrade app functionality.
- Access & deletion: you may request a copy of the personal data we hold about you, or ask us to delete it. Contact us at the address below.
- Export: for data portability requests, we can provide your recordings and metadata in a common format upon request.
8. Children
Our app is not intended for children under the minimum age required by local law (for example, under 13 in the United States). If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us personal data, please contact us and we will take steps to remove the data.
9. How to Revoke Consent or Disable Features
To stop audio recording or location collection:
- Open your device Settings.
- Find the app "Jaxis" in the app list.
- Revoke Microphone, Location, or Phone permissions to stop further collection.
Note: revoking permissions will not automatically delete data already collected — to delete existing data, contact us (below) or use the app's built-in delete/export features.
10. International Transfers
If we transfer data across borders (for example, to cloud providers), we take steps to protect it in accordance with applicable law (encryption, contracts with providers, etc.).
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. We will post the updated policy in the app and include the effective date at the top. Significant changes will be communicated by in-app notice or email if we have your address.
